Gold we buy from London customers

We buy gold in any carat and almost any condition. Broken, tangled, old-fashioned or unwanted, it's all worth asking about.

  • Gold jewellery: chains, rings, bracelets, bangles, earrings and brooches
  • Scrap and broken gold, including single earrings and snapped chains
  • Gold sovereigns, half sovereigns and other gold coins
  • Gold Britannias, Krugerrands and bullion coins
  • Gold bars of any size
  • Gold watches and watch cases, working or not

Why sell gold by post from London?

Selling in person in central London means travel, parking or fares, and often waiting while your gold is weighed in front of a queue. Selling online lets you get an offer first, in writing, before you send anything.

You stay in control the whole way. If you don't like the offer, you simply say no, and nothing leaves your home.

How it works

  1. Send us photos

Fill in the short form with a description and up to two photos of each item. Markings, weights and dates all help.

  2. Get your offer

We look at your items and reply with an offer. There's no fee to ask and no pressure to say yes.

  3. Post your items

If you accept, we explain exactly how to pack and post them. We recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed, which is tracked, signed for and can be insured.

  4. Get paid

We check your items by hand when they arrive and pay you once they're confirmed.

Areas of London we buy from

We buy from every London borough by post, including Islington, Camden, Hackney, Haringey, Barnet, Enfield, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Croydon, Bromley and Richmond.

How to pack gold safely

  • Use a small, strong box or padded bag, not a thin envelope.
  • Wrap each item on its own so nothing rubs or scratches.
  • Keep the outside plain. Don't write "gold", "silver" or "coins" on the parcel.
  • Send by Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed and ask the Post Office for cover that matches the value.
  • Keep your receipt and tracking number until we confirm the parcel has arrived.

Questions people ask

Do you have a shop in London?

No. We started in Islington in 1971, but today we buy online and by post. You send photos for an offer, and only post your gold if you're happy with it.

Is it better to sell gold in Hatton Garden or by post?

Both can work. Selling by post means you get an offer in writing first, without travelling, and you can compare it with other buyers before you decide.

What carat gold do you buy?

All of it: 9ct, 14ct, 18ct, 22ct and 24ct, plus foreign gold such as 585 and 750. Look for the number stamped inside rings or on clasps.

Does it cost anything to get an offer?

No. Asking for an offer is free and there's no obligation to sell.
